It is my pleasure to extend a warm greeting on behalf of the leadership and the members of the Chi Chi Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi, Nursing Incorporated. 

 

My name is Dr. Garnett Miller, and I serve as the 2025-2027 chapter’s president. Our esteemed organization, Chi Eta Phi, was founded on October 16, 1932, by 12 registered nurses at Freedman’s Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, DC. Our motto, “Service for Humanity,” reflects the core values of the nursing profession. My theme for this administration is KIND: Kind Intelligent Nurses Dedicated to our Profession.

 

Since our charter on July 16, 2016, the Chi Chi Chi Chapter has been a beacon of “Service for Humanity” in Memphis and the surrounding areas. Our members, who excel in academic, private business, and clinical settings, continue to make significant strides in the healthcare community. Through our collaborations with various organizations, we have raised awareness about health disparities, contributing to a healthier community. Our commitment to addressing health disparities and serving the community is unwavering and continues to inspire us.

 

Our local chapter, Chi Chi Chi, received the national Banner Award for the second consecutive year for our work in disease prevention, health promotions, mentorship, and leadership development within our service areas. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our members. We will continue to partner with other organizations and individuals who focus on providing “Service for Humanity".
